Eco-Friendly Initiatives At Victoria Beckham Beauty
Luxury beauty and eco-friendly beauty brands are two terms that don’t usually go hand-in-hand. With chemical-laden formulations and over-packaging of products in order to appear “luxurious”, the beauty industry is one of the biggest contributors to environmental pollution. However, it’s good to know that more and more beauty brands are becoming more eco-friendly. In fact, some of them, like The Body Shop, Lush, Tarte Cosmetics and Aveda had always been eco-friendly and sustainable from the get-go.
However, sometimes we just can’t stay away from the more glamorous brands, can we? It eats away at our eco-conscience, but we just can’t resist the allure of how certain up-scale products make us feel. Thankfully, with brands like Victoria Beckham Beauty that are both glamorous and eco-friendly, the ardent beauty enthusiast can continue to indulge in luxury, guilt-free.
How Victoria Beckham Beauty Is Becoming More Eco-Friendly
Being an eco-friendly beauty brand isn’t a selling point that Victoria Beckham Beauty is often known for. However, with Earth Day happening this month, the brand is highlighting their efforts in the eco-friendly beauty brand department. Here’s how Victoria Beckham Beauty is saving the world, one cosmetic packaging at a time:
Clean + Lean Ingredients
The beauty brand claims that their beauty products are produced using only safe, ethically and environmentally responsible ingredients, without using materials that are already banned globally. According to their clean beauty statement, the brand’s Research & Development experts are constantly reviewing and updating their ingredients list with an eye on potential toxicity, allergy and sensitivity issues. This gives the assurance that their products are good and safe for users.
With sustainability in mind, Victoria Beckham Beauty developed their packaging to be as eco-friendly as possible. This includes using less plastic materials, containers that are easy to recycle, boxes made of 100% Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified paper, and biodegradable corn foam packing materials that dissolve in water!
For their popular Smoky Eye Brick compact, the brand is already using solid brass instead of plastic. Meanwhile, their Power Serum glass bottle can be easily recycled once you remove the nozzle and base. Moving forward, the brand has also announced that they are launching their first refillable product soon. This means that there’s double the reason to look forward to their upcoming drop!
Sure, sometimes recycled and recyclable packaging may not be the cheapest out there. But wouldn’t you rest easier knowing that a portion of that huge amount of money you’re spending is going towards a better future for our planet Earth? You’re welcome for the justification!
