Shop RIUH 4 Rakyat & Support Local Businesses
We’d be lying if we said we don’t miss social events of all forms and sizes. From gatherings and reunions, concerts and sports events, to art bazaars and weekend pop-ups, there’s just something about experiencing it all in real life. However, due to Covid-related restrictions, there’s no choice but to be satisfied with online versions at the moment. And, really, even without the energetic atmosphere, we’re more than happy to support local business during this tough time. Thankfully, RIUH, which curates weekend pop-up events featuring local artisanal and food businesses, is also available online! What’s more, in keeping with the festival spirit, the platform is celebrating their fourth anniversary with RIUH 4 Rakyat, a month-long online festival running all through this August 2021.
What To Expect At RIUH 4 Rakyat
Now that RIUH is an online platform while also curating events (when circumstances allows for it), you can go to www.riuh.com.my to get your fix of unique and interesting products, creative crafts or delectable delights. This month, there will also be performances as well as workshops to look forward to online! Until the end of August, RIUH is collaborating with 40 independent retail and F&B brands under the RIUH 4 Rakyat online festival, as well as with performers, crafters and artisans, and visual designers.
What’s great about this month-long festival is that with every purchase of items from brands under the RIUH 4 Rakyat campaign or ticket sales to workshops or events, a percentage or even 100% of sales will go towards Covid-19 relief efforts. All fundraising proceeds and donations will go to the following organisations:-
- Projek Bangsa Malaysia
- Tempatan Food Bank
- Malaysian Mental Health Association
- Refuge for the Refugees
With every RM1 purchased, RIUH has pledged to contribute RM1 from their side, up to RM28,000. The aim is to collect at least RM50,000 to be contributed to the chosen organisations.
Shopping and Participating For The Greater Good
To help with the cause, all you have to do is buy from any of the 40 retailers or food and beverage sellers, or sign up for an online course. Proceeds from your purchases will be then be donated to the pool for the organisations. Now let’s look at some amazing and creative products to get from RIUH 4 Rakyat.
